I've been enjoying quiet moments batiking and sewing lately..
Batik is a dyeing process in which portions of the fabric are painted with wax, and only the uncovered areas (and areas where the wax has cracked) take the dye. The wax is then ironed out to reveal a unique pattern. Here are some of my creations.. more to come !

Hot off the presses

I love everything about old cameras. I love the way they look, the way they sound as you click the shutter, and the way they feel in your hands.

This linoleum print is part of my "Metallic Relics" series. I used black etching ink on Japanese rice paper.

It can be purchased here: www.ladylotus.etsy.com

and Lady Stardust sang his songs...

I was listening to Ziggy Stardust on the A train as I rode into downtown Manhattan yesterday. The first track that came on was Lady Stardust. Later in the evening my boyfriends mom brought him these incredible chocolates for his birthday.

Synchronicity, you never cease to amaze me.
